The Founding Circle

Mental health is a leadership question.

The Founding Circle brings together business leaders who believe the way an organisation treats mental health says something about the way it is led. Its members commit, from the start, to making psychological wellbeing a leadership responsibility rather than an afterthought.

The cost of silence is already on the balance sheet.

The World Health Organization estimates that depression and anxiety cost the global economy around 12 billion working days and US$1 trillion in lost productivity every year.

The cost that matters more is harder to measure. It is the people who struggle quietly, the talent that leaves without explaining why, and the managers who notice something is wrong and do not know what to say.

Most organisations have a wellbeing policy. Far fewer have leaders who talk about it. The Founding Circle exists to close that gap.

The Founding Commitment

Every member signs the same commitment. It is short by design.

  1. We will talk about it. Leaders in our organisation will speak openly about mental health, so that others feel able to.
  2. We will make help easy to find. Everyone who works with us will know where to turn, and how to get there.
  3. We will equip our managers. The people who lead our teams will know how to notice, how to ask and what to do next.
  4. We will treat it as leadership, not administration. Mental health will be a question for the leadership table, not for HR alone.

Signed by the leader. Never delegated.

Three ways to belong.

Founding Member

For individual leaders. Sign the Founding Commitment, lend your name to the foundation’s launch, and speak about mental health within your organisation or in public.

Founding Workplace

For organisations ready to act. Be among the first to pilot the foundation’s workplace programme, developed with clinical partners, and help shape it for those who follow.

Founding Partner

For organisations that want to fund change. Underwrite a programme or campaign, and be recognised as a founding partner across it.

What membership brings.

  • Recognition. Your name, or your organisation’s, listed among the Founding Circle on our website and at the foundation’s launch.
  • The Leaders’ Roundtable. Closed-door conversations with fellow members and leading clinicians, held under the Chatham House Rule.
  • Early access. First access to the foundation’s workplace toolkit, briefings and research.
  • A hand in shaping it. A direct say in how the foundation approaches mental health at work.

Who the Founding Circle is for.

Founders, chief executives, chairs, managing partners and senior leaders of companies, investors, professional firms, sports clubs, media organisations and public institutions. Members join as individuals and, where they choose, on behalf of their organisations.

Founding membership is open until the foundation’s public launch.

Request to join.

Tell us a little about yourself. We will be in touch within five working days to arrange a short introductory conversation.

The workplaces people are proudest of are rarely the ones with the best wellbeing policy. They are the ones where someone at the top spoke first.

Minds at Peace is an awareness, advocacy and support-access organisation. It is not an emergency service and does not replace qualified medical or mental-health professionals.

For non-emergency concerns, consider speaking with a qualified mental-health professional. We add numbers only after checking them with the service, and our list grows as our resource directory develops.

UK numbers checked with Samaritans, the NHS and Shout. Rescue 1122 checked with the Punjab Emergency Service. Tele-MANAS checked against Government of India sources. October 2026.
